Brian & Jules Yorkshire wedding

Here's one from the archives - a great Yorkshire wedding from last year.

Brian and Jules got married at The Red Lion in the picturesque village of Burnsall which sits by the river Wharfe in North Yorkshire. And luckily for me, they'd hired me to photograph it all.

I'd already met the couple at The Red Lion a few months prior to have a chat about the day and get some "engagement" pictures - I try to meet couples for an engagement photoshoot wherever possible in order to get to know them a little and also help them become comfortable with me pointing a camera at them.

Fast forward to the big day and after an early start in Sheffield I found myself in a damp and overcast Burnsall.

After having a quick wander around and a look at how the rooms had been set up, my first order of the day was the bride's preperations.

Downstairs the guests were arriving...

...and it wasn't long before the ceremony began.

The celebrations began straight away with drinks on the patio by the river and despite the odd drop of rain here and there, fortunately it stayed dry.

The groom and best man were on top form for the speeches and had the room howling with laughter more than once!

Afterwards was time for some portraits by the river...

...and then came cake and dancing.

...and my cue to leave came as the party really began getting into full swing.

So after an exhausting 10 hour shoot I set off for the two hour drive home around 9.30pm, happy in the knowledge I'd helped capture what was an enourmously fun and relaxed wedding. Brian and Jules were a pleasure to work with and I wish them all the best for their future together.
