RODE Videomicro unboxing and real world review

For my latest YouTube video I unbox and roadtest the Rode Videomicro, one of Rode's great, and powerful, microphones for cameras, vlogging and generally recording sound.

Right out of the box I was impressed with the build quality - I was expecting this thing to be plastic but it actually feels like aluminium maybe, it's got a nice weight to it and feels really solid. The Videomicro comes with a windscreen (or deadcat) and their Rycote® Lyre® shock mount. It's basically a great value little bundle that's certain to improve your audio in indoor and outdoor situations.

Read the full spec here.

I took it out to Stanage Edge in the Peak District and mounted it to my Nikon D7100 to test the audio capabilities. You'll be amazed at the difference...!
